Life's Curveballs Pt. 2

The rest  of the Knight-Uha household was sleeping at 2am, but being pregnant Chantel was having difficulty sleeping and was a little hungry so she decided to get up and grab a bite to eat. Just as she got up out the bed she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Not wanting to wake Paka she walked into the bathroom, but then another pain shot through her and she yelled for Paka to help her as she feared what was happening. Paka ran into the bathroom fearful of what was happening. He knew in his heart what was happening, and the look on Chantel's face told him she did too. Not wanting to wake the children Paka called the nanny and got Chantel to the hospital quickly hoping that maybe their baby boy would be safe. A few hours later the pair returned home with the sad news that they had miscarried. Paka sent Chantel upstairs to rest and he took care of getting Sage ready for school and gave Gia her bath and breakfast. Once the morning settled into mid-day Paka went out to the pool for a bit to relax. Meanwhile...Chantel just spent the morning crying into her bathroom mirror and transitioned after a shower to crying under the covers on their bed. The deep depression Chantel was sinking into was not healthy for her or her family. Paka couldn't say anything right to her and much of the time as long as Chantel got up and dressed in the morning he left her alone about everything else. He had also really wanted baby Jeremiah and spent a lot of time just looking at the only picture they had of him.

Gia hadn't really been affected by the miscarriage because being so young she did not understand anything that was happening. Sage, on the other hand, knew what happened in very broad terms and she knew her mother was very sad, and Sage couldn't stand being in the house with things so sad. Her drama club activities were a blessing in disguise as it gave her an emotional and creative outlet during this difficult time. On the weekends she would go to the park and hang out with her friends. One afternoon at the park in Willow Creek, Sage met up with a drama club student who was just a little  older than her, but who she had performed with before in class named Tevin Colgate. Tevin was surprised to see Sage at the chess tables in the park and decided to join her for a game and talk. Sage shared with him the sad news of her baby brother and how she just wanted to get away from the sadness. Tevin understood her and cheered her up. He exchanged numbers with Sage and told her that if she needed to talk she could call him whenever.

The next weekend Sage sent Tevin a text to find out if he wanted to hang out. He text her back that he was at the local cafe and to come and hang out if she could. She was able to meet up with him and the two played soccer. Sage lost at soccer, so she decided to try her luck inside the cafe with chess again. They played chess until late into the evening before saying goodbye for the evening. Sage went home and wrote in her journal about her day. She was starting to like Tevin a little more than a friend. They had a lot in common, but he had just become a teenager, so he treated Sage as if they were lightyears apart in age all of a sudden. In truth, Sage had a birthday coming up in a few weeks. She decided she would just wait until she became a teenager officially.

A few days later Chantel was feeling better after having attended therapy with Paka. Chantel had been doing a lot better since talking out her feelings in therapy. She and Paka made a final decision while in therapy that they would not have third child. They were both getting older and while they had wanted Jeremiah, they resigned themselves that having a third child was likely not in the plan for them. They were happy with their family of four and decided to reinvest their time in each other and their daughters. Chantel started selling her art on Plopsy! which was very successful and brought in nearly $2K for every painting she sold, which was double the price for some of them. She had also decided to volunteer with Sage every Saturday so that they got some Mommy and Me time with one another. Sage was getting older and there were things she wasn't always comfortable talking about in front of or around Paka.

Gia's birthday was fast approaching and so Chantel made a sugar-free carob cake, everyone's favorite, especially Chantel's because it wasn't as bad as plain chocolate cake. Paka missed Gia blowing out her candles due to some repairs needed to the sink and toilet in the master bathroom. Some how Paka must have developed super human/mermaid strength when he used the them that morning because they both broke within seconds of each other. After taking care of the mini flood in the bathroom Paka made his way downstairs to wish Gia happy birthday. For her present Gia got a new soccer ball and new bedroom furniture fit for a big girl! Gia was just happy she was older and able to hang out with Sage more. It was Sunday so the next day was Monday and that meant Gia's first day of school. Sage was a little embarrassed at the thought of going to the same school as Gia because Sage had been the victim of a bully a few times. This last time she finally admitted it to her mother who went and had words with the principal. Since then Sage hadn't had any problems, but it was still embarrassing and she also worried the same might happen to her little sister.

On a happier note, Friday is Sage's birthday and she is going to be a teenager! She  has already planned her party for Friday night at a bowling alley in Newcrest that was very popular. She can't wait to hang out with all of her friends and stay out late. Her parents are allowing her to stay out until midnight since it is her birthday and she'll have Saturday and Sunday to recover.

Next Update: Sage's birthday party! She invites both Bill Walsh and Tevin Colgate, which one will she ultimately fall for? Also, Gia will be getting a new wardrobe because I don't know what in the EA happened to her when she aged up.
